Marcus Thuram Debuts Nike's Latest Mercurial x Air Max Fusion Debuts

Following hot on the heels of the grand debut of the Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly IX ‘Air Max Tn' that took center stage earlier this week, we have a fresh scoop. It was sported first by the illustrious Kylian Mbappe, but now there's another footballer in the mix. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Marcus Thuram has slyly let slip that there's a Vapor XV version coming our way when it hits the market on the 15th of January.

Nike showed no mercy, hitting us with a mammoth launch to kick start the year: a fusion of two of their most prominent product ranges. We're talking about the trademark look of the radiant Nike TN Air Max Plus merging effortlessly with the silhouette of the Nike Air Zoom Mercurial Superfly IX. The collection gives a respectful nod to the OG 'Voltage Purple' drop from yesteryear in 1998.

In no time at all, Kylian Mbappé was not just rocking a pair, but also scoring in them, firing home PSG's second goal against Toulouse in the Trophée Des Champions victory. Our fellow French footballer, Marcus Thuram, recently revealed a Vapor XV version of the Nike Air Mercurial Tn at an Inter training session. We anticipate this jaw-dropping collection adorned in “Volt Purple/Total Orange” colourways that are respectful of the heritage from which it was born, with Thuram most likely wearing the Air Zoom Mercurial Vapor XV version in Inter’s Serie A match against Verona.

A brief throwback to 1998 when the OG “Voltage Purple” colourway of the Air Max Plus first landed on the scene, with its last was scene in 2018. Now, it makes a triumphant return. This iconic release served as a showstopper for the 25th anniversary of the shoe that graced us with its presence back in 2023. So, stay tuned for more chapters in this footwear saga.
