Chivas and Puma are back at it again with this whole 24-25 home kit situation. They've updated the legendary red and white stripes. The famous stripes that makes Chivas instantly recognizable on the world stage.
On one hand, you gotta respect the tradition, the history, the audacity of keeping it simple. It's Chivas through and through. Those stripes are iconic! They scream "we know who we are" and frankly, in a world obsessed with fleeting trends, I kind of live for that. Plus, the navy blue on the collar and cuffs? A subtle flex, a little wink to sophistication.
But, and you knew there was a 'but' coming, didn't you? It's a tad... safe. Like, did they even try to spice things up a bit? Throw in a pattern, a splash of something unexpected? It's giving very much "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Which, okay, fair enough, but a little part of me, the part that loves a good plot twist, craves a little more oomph.
Look, it's a good kit. Puma makes a mean jersey, let's be real. It's comfortable, it's well-made, it's gonna look fly on the pitch and on the streets. Not gonna lie, I love me a classic Chivas kit, i'll probably cop, but how about you?
