Bohemian FC Unveils 2024 Away Kit: A Tribute to Thin Lizzy and Dublin's Rock Legacy

Bohemian FC, Ireland's historic and fully fan-owned football club. This revered institution melds music and sports in a striking fashion with its 2024 official away kit. Released on 13 February 2024, the jersey is a heartfelt ode to the electrifying 1977 Dublin Rock festival, headlined by the iconic Irish rock band Thin Lizzy. This memorable event took place at the club's home ground, Dalymount Park.

Bohemian FC has been in the limelight in recent years, thanks to its recurring motifs rooted in melody. The club has captured the hearts of both football and music fans alike with this unique memorialization of Thin Lizzy's legendary gig. The 2024 jersey radiates the distinct essence of the band's Black Rose album, ready to enchant Thin Lizzy fans with a musically-charged kit that pays tribute to the band's historic 1977 performance at Dalymount Park. This initiative is instrumental in boosting fund collections, which are utilized to offer invaluable music opportunities for underprivileged kids throughout Dublin City. "Friday night they'll be dressed to kill," beckons the call to action.

The design, graced with a line from their massive hit "The Boys Are Back in Town" at the neck, and adorned with a myriad of black rose motifs by the eminent Jim Fitzpatrick stitching the body, offers an audacious modern look while clinging to the nostalgia. Unique sleeve trims and an original gig poster embroidered on the lower front pledge 10% of total profits to help Bohemian FC's commitment to proliferate music to the underprivileged.

In association with club partners, a dynamic new jersey design was launched, taking a lead from the musical realm. The design pays homage to the legendary Thin Lizzy gig that rocked Dublin's Dalymount Park, a venue known for hosting numerous unforgettable concerts in the '80s and '90s. The main goal? To raise funds for 'Music Generation Dublin City,' a project committed to helping economically disadvantaged and socially isolated children across Dublin connect with music.

On behalf of Thin Lizzy, Dave T expressed great excitement about the launch. “We are thrilled to celebrate one of Ireland’s most cherished concerts together with Bohemian FC. It’s something special to see Jim Fitzpatrick’s iconic Black Rose woven into the design. We hope the jersey not only serves as a stylish testament to Thin Lizzy but also generates funds for Music Generation Dublin City, inspiring young musical talents on Dublin streets—just where Phil once trod."
