Ready to embrace the seasonal shift with style? adidas Originals just rolled out its spanking new Spezial collection for AW23, and it’s nothing short of a vibe. Drenched in rich, autumnal tones, the collection spans from timeless sneaker designs to an expansive wardrobe selection, all given a fresh face by none other than Roy Keane.
The Spezial selection has become a bit of a legend within adidas Originals, delivering that exclusive touch that ups the ante with each release. AW23’s collection picks up the baton from this year’s pre-spring ensemble with conviction. Footwear gets a fresh twist with seven distinct designs, while the apparel and accessories showcase meticulous craftsmanship with an eco-conscious edge, spotlighting recycled materials. The whole range takes the spotlight in a stirring campaign film featuring the legendary Roy Keane ambling lakeside with his four-legged pal, Jet.
Let’s talk threads. Stealing the show are the Haslingden Jacket and Moorfield Anorak. Not to be outshone is the Topfield liner, glinting in gold and flaunting the Mod Trefoil logo in a stunning embroidered display. The ensemble also welcomes the Sudell Track Top and Track Pants, which boast an elongated take on the classic logo, this time wrapped in a mountain-inspired graphic. The line-up doesn't stop there; it's complemented by an array of t-shirts, polos, crewnecks, and hoodies. And for the final flourish? The seasonal accessories come through with a ‘box logo’ Beanie and the fleece-lined, flap-equipped Chilcott Hat.
Stepping down to sneakers, the Moscrop 2 SPZL stands out in a cool light grey, while the Hiaven SPZL is winter-ready in a sleek monochromatic black, complete with an adi-Tex membrane for battling the elements. The Samba Deco SPZL struts in, nodding to the 80s with a black and green combo and a brown and white version that echoes the hues of its 70s predecessor.
Then, there’s the Inverness SPZL, a dashing outdoor-leisure mix-up that’s evolved from the Carnforth SPZL, in a dark brown that’s a match made in heaven with the Haslingden Jacket. Not forgetting the Englewood SPZL, a suave low top that reworks the late 80s Galaxy II high top into something fresh. Rounding off the footwear fam is the debonair Lawkholme SPZL.
