World Cup Fever & Open Roads: Our Epic Journey to Craft adidas's 2026 Federation Kit Lookbook

When adidas comes knocking, asking you to capture their incredible range of 2026 Federation home kits in a lookbook, there’s really only one answer, isn’t there? You say yes. And that’s exactly what happened. So, we packed our bags and headed out on a road trip across the States – a journey unlike any other.

You know that feeling, right? That little buzz, that deep-down restlessness that stirs when a World Cup is on the horizon. It's like an itch to just move, to explore, to maybe even get a little lost before the whole world turns its eyes to football’s biggest stage. So, when adidas approached us at SoccerBible to shoot their new 2026 World Cup federation kits, we didn’t go for the usual spots. No fancy stadiums or perfect, manicured backdrops. Instead, we pointed ourselves straight into the vast, warm, rolling landscapes of the United States. That's where the world will gather in 2026, after all, and it just felt right. What came out of it was a lookbook that really felt shaped by instinct, by the atmosphere of the place, and by that endless, almost mythical stretch of American land in between cities.

This whole thing wasn't about ticking off famous landmarks or leaning on some old-school postcard nostalgia. From the very start, the brief was clear: chase a feeling, not a specific location. It was about finding a horizon line, not just a backdrop. The lookbook was built to feel like an impulsive road trip, a spontaneous adventure. Part daydream, part raw documentary, and all cinematic journey. Imagine a trip through nowhere and everywhere all at once, where the open road itself becomes a character in the story. It makes the biggest tournament in the world feel close enough to touch, even before the first whistle has even blown.

We wanted these jerseys to live. To truly exist out in the wild. Not perfectly staged, not overly polished, but elevated with a natural style, soaked in the same sun, dust, and quiet magic you find on a proper cross-country drive. These kits needed to step away from the usual sideline walk-ups and those sterile tactical tunnels. We wanted them to breathe. To move. To exist in genuine motion: speeding along desert roads, under those impossibly big skies, alongside the kind of fierce, open speedways that just slice through the landscape with a certain American bravado. It’s a feeling that matches the sheer scale of the tournament that's coming.

In many ways, the 2026 World Cup is going to feel like a film – a massive, global story playing out across an entire continent. We wanted the lookbook to truly honour that. So, we built it in scenes, in little vignettes, in layered pockets of atmosphere where time itself seems to slow down, and the journey becomes the story. Each shot is a moment that could be anywhere, or everywhere, suspended between destinations. It's all stitched together by a mood, rather than just a bunch of map pins.

This whole project is a real tribute to the road. To the build-up, the anticipation, that quiet, almost mythic calm before the entire world descends. The kits sit right at the heart of that universe, lived-in and alive. They carry both the weight of history – all those past victories and defeats – and the sheer thrill of what’s next, what’s still to come. They’re more than just sportswear; they're a piece of national identity, a symbol of hope and style, ready for the world stage.

The journey has already begun.
